The Grind Grimoire

Habits, written
as legend

The Grind
Grimoire

Wherein the small things you do each day are set down as quests and become — slowly, surely — a legend written in gold.

No streaks to break. No guilt. Only ink that stays.
An open grimoire, its pages ruled for the day's quests

Capitulum the First

The working of the grimoire

No grand resolutions. You inscribe a habit, the Grimoire names its difficulty, and the finishing of it is a victory it records in gold.

I

Inscribe a quest

Name a habit, however small, and choose its Discipline — Mind, Body, Craft, Study, Order or Heart. The Grimoire weighs each quest and sets its difficulty.

II

Complete it

Mark the deed done. Your victory is inscribed in gold, and the page rewards the effort — quietly strengthening the story you are writing.

III

Grow your legend

As your legend grows, the pages open — your character, the Threshold, a Homestead and the deep Scriptorium. Your daily habits quietly become an unfolding story.

The World Beneath the Page

Forgetting's oldest trick.

It wore no crown because it needed none. It made effort vanish by making it feel ordinary. Quiet effort had no such protection. It disappeared unless someone chose to mark it.

The world kept the thunder.

It remembered crowns. It remembered wars. It carved the names of conquerors into marble and forgot the ones who carried water, sharpened tools, studied through exhaustion, and repaired what others broke.

The necessary was consumed.

A kingdom could be saved by a sword and remembered for a thousand years. A life could be saved by a thousand smaller acts and vanish before winter.

So the First Keepers bound a book.

Not a scripture. Not a law. Not a weapon. Not a crown in another shape. A record. They asked it only to preserve evidence, never to command the living.

Act, and the act will not be lost. Nothing false is counted. Nothing true is lost.

Capitulum the Second

What waits within the pages

Each system opens as your legend grows — a whole world that rewards the habits you were building anyway.

Where the pages open

Sentinel vocation
FOL. ICharacter

Choose your Vocation. Forge your Relics.

Sentinel, Sage, Wayfinder or Mender — each with stats, Relics and cosmetics. At the Bindery Forge, craft legendary Relics from the materials your quests yield.

FOL. IIHomestead

Raise a home of your own.

Build a Grand Hall, library, garden and smithy — storybook buildings that grant quiet, passive bonuses to your daily climb.

A homestead of lit cottages
FOL. IIIThreshold

Summon and duel.

On-demand daily bosses — Lesser Shapes — met in turn-based combat, fuelled by what you finished today. The Codex remembers every Shape overcome.

FOL. IVThe Scriptorium

Descend the deep crawl.

Forty procedural floors beneath the grimoire, descended as your habits carry you deeper. The far reaches hold the rarest Relics.

FOL. VThe Bindery Forge

Temper the legendary.

Spend hard-won materials to craft weapons and armor — Implements and Vestments — like the Champion's Blade, and carry them into every fight. Crafted, never bought.

What the pages keep

FOL. VIThe Counsel Band

Before it takes shape.

A living margin for thoughts, doubts, plans, and questions that do not yet fit a Quest, Chapter, Oath, or the Chronicle. The Grimoire reflects what is written and can help it take shape; it offers, never commands.

FOL. VIICampaigns

One goal, one passage at a time.

A Campaign is a chosen goal inscribed as a sequence of Chapters, so you can see a larger effort one passage at a time. It can be shelved without punishment or shame.

FOL. VIIIOaths

What you return to.

An Oath is a ritual of return: you choose one kind of Inscription and return to it until the ritual is sealed. It does not depend on a streak that can break; if interrupted, it rests, and the days already inscribed remain.

FOL. IXThe Chronicle

What was inscribed.

The Chronicle preserves what has been inscribed, crossed, restored, resolved, and returned to. It does not accuse: each gathered week shows what received Ink, what remained quiet, and what patterns became visible.

FOL. XThe Codex

What has taken shape.

The Codex is the index where the Grimoire records the forms you have encountered, clarified, restored, or named. It is neither a trophy list nor a kill log.

The Vocations

Four shapes the ink takes.

Discipline names the work; Vocation names the shape the Ink takes in passing through it. They are not personality boxes and they are not ranks — they are patterns your record makes visible. None is better than another, and yours can change as you do.

Sentinel

Ink expressed as protection, endurance and direct action. Holds its shape under pressure.

Its implement is the Aegis.

Sage

Ink expressed as understanding, learning and transformation. Reads the pattern and clears the fog.

Its implement is the Lantern.

Wayfinder

Ink expressed as adaptation, precision and hidden paths. Adjusts with good timing and finds the Opening.

Its implement is the Compass.

Mender

Ink expressed as patience, repair and recovery. Restores and preserves what matters.

Its implement is the Needle.

The Shape of the Sevenfold Trial

The Sevenfold Trial

Every week, a great evil stirs.

Your completed quests are the blows you land. A week of small, kept promises becomes the strength to overcome a Figure no single day could.

Notes in the margin

Questions, answered

Is it truly free to use?

Yes — the whole game is free, forever. Every quest, Vocation, Shape, building and Scriptorium floor is yours at no cost, with no card and no time limit.

What happens if I miss a day?

Nothing is lost. The Grimoire keeps no streaks to break and lays no guilt — your character and every victory already inscribed remain exactly as they were. You simply pick up the quill again when you return.

How do habits become a game?

Each habit is inscribed as a quest, and the Grimoire weighs its difficulty. Completing it advances your character and opens the wider world — your Vocation, your Homestead, the Threshold and the deep Scriptorium. Your routine quietly becomes an unfolding story.

Which devices is it on?

The Grimoire travels with you on your phone and on the web, and your chronicle is cloud-bound for everyone — a quest finished on your phone is already written when you next open the tome on your desk.
